Where Am I in AI? — The Soul Edit

PUBLIC SPEAKING, AI WORKSHOP

I was invited to hold a workshop on AI in small business and everyday life as part of The Soul Edit, an insightful and meaningful women’s networking event series. The participants ranged from AI-shy to AI-fluent, working across industries including management and finance, events and culture, architecture and art, psychotherapy, education, and journalism.

The goal of the workshop was to understand the workflows within each of these industries and explore how AI tools and models might improve them. The session was structured in three parts: an advanced prompting guide, an introduction to agentic workflows and AI agents, and a presentation of lesser-known tools and use cases.

Where Am I in AI? offered participants tangible, industry-specific insights into how advanced prompting techniques can improve results while addressing their day-to-day challenges. One of the key goals was to demystify AI and reduce resistance by presenting it not as a replacement for human creativity and effort, but as a collaborative, iterative process.

To make the workshop feel more inviting and reflective, the event was layered with symbolic and sensory elements. AI — and the binary nature of digital tools — can often feel sterile or futuristic. The all-white art gallery space where the workshop took place provided a perfectly neutral background, elevated by reflective objects: mirrors repurposed as plates and stainless steel serving platters. The mirrors placed in front of participants served as a reminder that AI outputs are ultimately reflections of our own thoughts and inputs.

In line with the minimalist, contemplative setting, the food concept followed an all-white menu inspired by French avant-garde composer Erik Satie, known for being ahead of his time — and for famously eating only white food: white meat, fruit pulp, rice, bread, pasta, and cheese. The only touch of color was a peculiar drink made from boiled white wine and a dash of pinkish fuchsia juice — a symbolic reminder that we should bring a bit of our own color and eccentricity into our AI journey.
